Close racial gaps in access to jobs and housing
Widespread, illegal, covert discrimination in the fields of employment and housing can explain persistent racial segregation and inequality in Minneapolis. A solution: Empower the Minneapolis Civil Rights Department to detect and prosecute those engaged in illegal discrimination.

Stop Home Foreclosures, make housing affordable to all
Use the City's power of eminent domain to buy foreclosed houses at market rate, and sell them back to the foreclosed homeowners who owed more than that to the banks. Impose special assessments on vacant bank-owned property. Low-interest loans to home buyers.

Pass a Living Wage Ordinance: $15 per hour minimum wage
If the federal minimum wage of 1967 has been adjusted by the formula then in use, the current minimum wage would be well over $15 per hour.

A quality K-12 Public Education for all on an equal basis.
It is a crime that students of color are heavily exposed to inexperienced teachers and watered-down curriculum. The school district should retain, not fire and replace most of the teachers it hires, and eliminate watered-down curriculum. Doug Mann opposes the agenda of corporate-style reforms and charter-ization of the public school system embraced by both DFL and Republican politicians.
In 2012 Doug Mann got 31,300 votes as the citywide Minneapolis School Board candidate endorsed by the Green party, Democratic Socialists of America, and the New Progressive Alliance
